Charlotte O’Brien Manuel, 83, died at 6:01 p.m. on June 1, 2011 after a brief illness. For many years, she worked with her husband, Wayne Manuel, in their photography business.
Charlotte was born on October 15, 1927, in Vigo County to Clifford E. O’Brien and Edith Markle O’Brien. She was graduated from Otter Creek High School in 1945. She married Wayne Manuel on March 6, 1953, and he preceded her in death in 2003. She was also preceded in death by sisters Mary C. O’Brien and Naomi O’Brien, brother Clifford O’Brien and nephew Bill O’Brien.
Survivors include three daughters Carole Barr and her husband Kevin; Laura Lyle and her husband, Curtis; and Nancy Manuel, all of Terre Haute. One son, Brad Manuel and his wife Andrea Rex of Berkeley, California and one sister, Madonna Strickland of Terre Haute. She is also survived by grandchildren Valerie Jenkins and her husband David of Noblesville, Indiana; Lara Bastin and her husband Nate of Bloomington, Indiana; Lindsay Little and Jacob Orlandini of Terre Haute, Indiana and great-grandson, Samuel Bastin of Bloomington, Indiana. Nieces and nephews Cheryl Zigler and her husband Rick of Aiken, South Carolina; Marsha Ross and her husband Mark of Terre Haute, Indiana; Robert O’Brien and his wife Jo of Connersville, Indiana and Patricia Smith and her husband Doug of Akron, Ohio; and one sister-in-law, Mary A. O’Brien of New Haven, Indiana.
