Charlotte M. Posey, age 92, passed away at her home on October 22 due to natural causes. She was born May 6, 1919, near Caldwell, ID, as the oldest of 6 children. She was raised by her mother and step-father, Edna and Charles Cupp, and was always grateful to have such loving parents. She lived a life filled with loving family and friends, an accomplished career and a thirst for adventure and knowledge.

Charlotte graduated from Wilder High School in 1938, and then married Wilbur (Shep) Sheppard that same year. The marriage ended in divorce several years later.

She worked a variety of jobs throughout her career, but found her niche when she became a labor contract negotiator for the International Union of Communications Workers of America. She was responsible for a multi-state region, and traveled extensively throughout her tenure with the CWA until her retirement in 1980.  She and Tom then left Denver and returned to Caldwell to be near her family.

Tom passed away in 1993, and she continued to live in the same house where they had spent their retirement years. She shared this house with her beloved toy poodle, Brandy, and a few adopted cats and made several neighborhood friends.

Charlotte was an active member of Hermosa #32 OES and Daughters of the Nile #40 and #19.

She was a proud and active member of the Democratic Party, well read and fully capable of arguing politics with the best of them.

She is survived by her sister Betty Garrett (Dale); brother Chuck Cupp (Pauline); sister-in-law Edna Cupp; step son Barry Posey; step daughter Kathy Drury; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.  She would wish us to especially acknowledge her dear friend and companion for over 10 years, Harry Huffer, as well as the long friendships of school mates Merna Graham Richert, Clarice Dunagun Batt, Dorothea Gooder Yost, Delta Kelso Reed, and many more that we likely fail to mention.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Jack and Wesley (Bud) Cupp, and sister and brother-in-law Fae and Ernie Griat.
