Charlotte Literal, 94, of McCordsville, passed away February 24, 2016 at Westminster Village North in Indianapolis.
She was born April 4, 1921 in Vanderburgh County, Indiana. She had worked at the old McCordsville Elementary for 10 years in the cafeteria, worked at Mt. Vernon High School for 10 years as a library assistant and finally retiring after 10 years as the guidance department secretary at Mt. Vernon High School.
Charlotte was a 50 year member of the McCordsville Order of the Eastern Star and had been the secretary for many years. She was a member of the McCordsville United Methodist Church and had been the treasurer of the United Methodist Women’s group at the church.
Charlotte is survived by brother: Donald (Shirley) Johann of Evansville; daughters: Jean (John) Zelek of Flowery Branch, GA and Joannie Literal of McCordsville; grandchildren: Shannon (Ryan) Boak, Jesse (Stephanie) Castor, Jay (Debbie) Zelek and Sharon (Doug) Folkens; great grandchildren: Nicholas, Benjamin, Madelyn, Sydney, Jack, Sam and Ben; nephew: David (Darla) Johann and niece: Laura (Louie) Lehmann. She was preceded in death by husband Herman Literal and parents Harvey Johann and Blanche (Hiebner) Johann.
