SALEM – Charlotte E. Conser, age 102, died at 6:10 a.m. on Friday, October 27, 2017 at the Essex of Salem II surrounded by her family. She was born February 1, 1915 in Somerset PA, the daughter of the late Russell and Ethel (Long) Pyle, moving to this area in 1941.
Charlotte retired in 1979 from Copeland Oaks as an afternoon supervisor. She was a Registered Nurse working in various capacities in the nursing field. She held positions as Floor Supervisor, Department Supervisor of the Grey Ladies and Candy Stripers, and was also a Private Duty nurse. She was a member of the Salem First Friends Church.
Charlotte was a 1933 graduate of Somerset High School and a graduate of Nursing at the Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital in Johnstown, PA. She was a life member of the C.V.M.H. Alumni Assoc., Charter member of the Florence Nightingale Nurses Assoc., Salem Senior Citizens, and Eastern Stars Chapter 334.
Her husband, Cecil W. Conser, whom she married August 6, 1939, preceded her in death on May 21, 1964.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Sam (Fay) Conser Delli of Lyndhurst, Ohio; 4 grandchildren, Ray (Lori) Conser Jr. of Salem, Dane (Lee Ann) Delli of Chicago, IL, Deborah (Gary) Stamp of Salem and Claudia (Joseph) Delli Russo of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; 9 great grandchildren, Gabe, Elizabeth, and Emma Delli, Madeline Russo, twins, Katherine and Amanda Russo, Jennifer Stamp, Caleb and Molly Conser; and a daughter-in-law, Joyce Conser of Salem.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ray Conser Sr. in 2004, a brother, Robert Pyle, and two sisters, Loris Bender and Fay Grove.
