Mrs. Charlotte Ann Young was born on January 27, 1949, in Chattanooga, TN to the late Jerry B. Johnson and Marion Reynolds and raised by Virginia H. Smith in Courtland AL. Mrs. Young transitioned on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at North Alabama Specialty Hospital in Athens, Alabama.
She confessed her life to Christ at an early age and was a member of Jackson Chapel C.M.E. Church of Courtland, AL, where she sang in the Senior Choir.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Kenneth Johnson; sisters, Patricia Johnson, Frances Johnson-Davis and Rosalind Johnson; and grandson, Jaquorius Johnson.
Charlotte leaves to cherish her memory; a husband of 49 years, Joe Young Sr. of Courtland, AL; three daughters, Cassandra Young of Courtland, AL; two sons, Gary Johnson (Andrea) of Russellville, AL and Joe Young Jr. of Courtland, AL; sisters, Carolyn Orr (Arthur) of Hillsboro, AL, Geraldine Johnson of Nashville, TN, Shelia Sawyer of Cleveland, OH and Katie Mason of Courtland, AL; sisters-in-law, Trullie Watkins of Decatur, AL, Cassie Battle of Huntsville, AL, Celestine Gholston (James) of Decatur, AL, Claudia Young of Courtland, AL and Frances Young of Hillsboro, AL; brothers-in-law, Roy Young Sr. (Minita) of Hillsboro, AL and Rodney Young (Donna) of Decatur, AL; 13 grandchildren, Chasity Bolding (Nathan), a special granddaughter, Brittany Young, Zedrick Johnson, Ashontae Gloudou (Israel), Roy Joung Jr. (Jeneal), Saroyia Young, Jacobey Henderson, A’jada Porter, Tiara Willias (Demetric), Samara Johnson, McKenzie Young, Jaylan Smith, Reginald Clay Jr.; 18 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; a devoted friend, Brenda Hampton of Courtland, AL.
