Charlotte A. Paterson Rempe passed away peacefully on November 25, 2021.
Charlotte was born November 11, 1932 in Topeka, Kansas to Margaret C. and Charles David Paterson. She graduated from Assumption Grade School and attended Hayden High School in Topeka. After graduation, she went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. as a draftswoman in the Engineering Department.
In 1958 Charlotte met Ernest “Gene” Rempe at the Topeka Catholic Youth Organization. They were engaged a short time later and married at St.
They relocated to Geneva, IL in 1961 to pursue a business partnership with Gene’s older brother. During the next 15 years Charlotte enjoyed being a homemaker and raising Rick, along with their other children Janice, Linda, and Bryan.
After the kids were all in school Charlotte took a job at the Kane County Tax Extension & Elections office in Geneva IL where she remained working for 17 years.
Charlotte adored her grandchildren and loved to travel. She was an avid golfer, fisherwoman, and exercise enthusiast. She loved all animals, especially her cats.
Charlotte is survived by her children Rick Rempe of North Aurora, IL, Janice Rempe Clark and husband Doug of Geneva, IL, Linda Rempe Nowlin and husband Greg of Johns Creek, GA, and Bryan Rempe and wife Sandy of Johns Creek, GA; her eight grandchildren Austin, Jack, Nick, Avery, Dylan, Danielle, Jack, and Ben; and many nieces and nephews.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband of more than 60 years Ernest “Gene” Rempe, her first grandchild Rachel Spriggs, her parents, and her twin brother.
