Charlie Ray Shepherd, Sr., 74, of Salisbury passed away Friday June 22, 2012 at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
He was born on Friday November 5, 1937 in Rowan County, a son of the late John Charlie Shepherd and Carrie Poplin Shepherd.
Mr. Shepherd attended the schools of Rowan County. He was employed as a welder with Taylor Manufacture. He was a member of Trading Ford Baptist Church.
On Saturday November 29, 1958 in Salisbury he married the love of his life Bessie Irene Ridenhour.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife Bessie Shepherd of Salisbury; one daughter Linda Gobrish of Albermarle; two sons Charlie Ray Shepherd, Jr. of Mooresville and John Robert Shepherd of Salisbury; two sisters Janie Shepherd Mowbray and Linda James both of Salisbury; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one step grand-son and four step-great-grandchildren.
