On April 14, 2010, Charlie Louis Lloyd, 57, of 4440 Spring Garden Road, Chatham, was called home to be with his Savior after a lengthy illness. Born April 23, 1952 in Halifax County, he was the son of the late Florence Toombs Lloyd and the late Dewey W. Lloyd. He was a member of Old Mill Primitive Baptist Church, was a machine operator for Gregory Lumber Co. and was a farmer. He was married to Joyce Merricks Lloyd of the residence. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Lisa Lloyd of Keeling, a son, Charlie L. Lloyd, Jr. and wife, Stephanie of Axton, two sisters, Linda L. Seamster of Sutherlin and Nancy Sue Throckmorton of Scottsburg, a brother, Dewey Lloyd, Jr. of Altavista, a grandson, Levi Lloyd and granddaughter, Chloe Lloyd. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Michael W. Lloyd and two sisters, Shirley Henderson and Peggy Rice.
