Bro. Charlie (Bud)  James Hollins Jr.
A native and resident of Whatley, Alabama  traded life for eternity on Saturday February 27, 2021 at Thomasville Regional Hospital . Charles ( Bud) was born January 29, 1939 to Charlie and Inell Hester Hollins. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Mackey Branch # 2 Baptist Church where he served as Janitorial of the church and a trustee of the church. Charlie was employed over a number of years in the logging industry. He was employed with the Clarke Co. Board of Education as a bus driver for many years. Charlie also was employed with Dumas Mfg. Co. before being employed for the City of Grove Hill where he retired.
Charlie , affectionately known to many as “Bud” , was loved by family and the Whatley community. An avid fan of Alabama Crimson Tide , he took pride in watching his team. Bro. Hollins loved gardening in his spare time. He was united in matrimony to Dessie Lee Tate  and remained together until her death.
He was preceded in death by his father , Charlie James Hollins Sr. ; mother , Inell Hester Hollins; wife Dessie  Less Tate Hollins; a daughter, Cynthia Hollins Scott; and grandson Antwan Hollins; and sisters Minnie Hill, Clara Houston, and Jessie Davis,; brother Ernest Hollins.
He leaves to cherish his memories a two daughters, Willie (  Elder Byrant) Jones of Dixon Mill, AL and Gwendolyn Wilson, Pensacola , FL; four sons Jerry Lee Hollins Whatley, AL, Lewis Hollins Gosport, AL, George Edward ( Arolina) King Lower Peach Tree, AL & Lewis ( Ledora ) King Whatley , AL; five sisters;  Mary Duncan, Ethel Evans, Barbara Hollins, Rose (Victor) Morrissittee, Bernice ( Jerry )Pugh all of Whatley, AL; two brothers Robert ( Lynda ) Hollins Grove Hill, AL, Edward Earl Hollins Whatley, AL; 11 grandchildren, 22 great- grands, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
