Charlie Dixon, 102, of Anderson, passed away on January 28, 2021, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Anderson, IN.
He was born on January 5, 1919, in Livingston, Tennessee, and resided in Anderson for 70 years. He retired in 1982 from Delco Remy after 30 years of service. He was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church in Pendleton where he was very active as a Greeter. He loved the Lord and his family. He had previously served as a Deacon and Trustee. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandchildren. He met everyone with a hug and piece of candy. He loved his morning coffee with his coffee group, Kathleen, Bill, Ruth, and Elaine. He also loved having lunch at The Lemon Drop and loved all the gals that knew him so well. He was also a gardener and never met a stranger.
Charlie is survived by his daughters, Anna (Ed) Pugsley and Charlene (Mike) Whitehead; grandchildren, Wendy Koger, Tracy Crawford, Stephanie (Christophe) Michaud, Michael (Nicole) Whitehead, Matthew Whitehead; great-grandchildren, Kyle Koger, Jessica Readdy, Benjamin Crawford, Alexandria Wolanski, Paul Wolanski, Bryan Wolanski, Miranda Michaud, Michael Whitehead, Jr., Kaitlyn Whitehead, McKenzie Whitehead, Madison Whitehead, Max Whitehead, Mia Whitehead, several nieces and nephews, great-great-grandchildren, Ashton and Rosie Wolanski.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Issaac Payton and Nellie Dixon; wife of 70 years, Beatrice Dixon; son, JC Dixon; siblings, Oliver Dixon, Reece Dixon, Elsie Deck, Lonzo Dixon, IP Dixon, Morris Dixon, Jim Dixon, Vestile Dixon.
