Charlie, also known as “the honey man” was born and raised in north Alabama. He was a great man who had more accomplishments than two lifetimes. He was a Naval veteran, a Master Mason, a charter member of UAH and a long-time member and 50-year deacon at Jackson Way Baptist Church. He retired from Redstone Arsenal after 25 years and was fortunate enough to have a second “career” as a black angus cattleman and beekeeper. As a third generation beekeeper, he kept over 200 hives and bottled thousands of gallons of honey over his lifetime. One of his favorite pastimes was traveling the United States as well as Canada and Mexico with his wife, Virginia. Charlie also had wonderful memories bass fishing with his friends and family.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 70 years, Virginia Kirkpatrick Cornelison, children, James Cornelison of Gurley and Carol Ann Norton of Knoxville Tennessee and sister Laura McGaha of Florida. He is also survived by four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
