Charlie B. Montoya, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on June 9, 2023, at the age of 94. Charlie was born in Hollywood, New Mexico and graduated from Hondo High School in 1948. Charlie was a proud US Army veteran having served on the front line in Korea.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Maria Montoya and his wife, Eva V. Montoya of 53 years. His only surviving sibling is Olila Sandoval and her husband Manuel of Lompoc, CA. Charlie is survived by his children, Rosemary White, Dorothy Murphy, Charles Montoya, and John Montoya (Barbara) and his niece, Evelyn Rodriguez who was raised as a daughter.
He had 10 grandchildren, Rebecca Garcia (Vincent), Joe Scholz (Alayne), Dara Fierro (Chrisanto), Brandi Beamish (Richard), Briana Currie (Aaron), Amber Montoya (Jordan), Sean Montoya, Chad Viscarra (Jennifer), Ryan Rodriguez (Anissa), Deanna Rodriguez; as well as 12 great grandchildren, Dexter, Zoe, Padraic, Skylor, Mason, Ellie, Preston, Vivian, Isaac, Ryan Jr., Miranda, and Reese.
