Charlie A. Norman, Sr.; 91; loving husband, father, and papaw, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 18, 2007 after a lengthy illness. He was a fighter til the end, and left us surrounded by the family he loved dearly. Born to Willie Wyatt Norman and Roxie Anna Ladd-Chance Norman, in Waverly, TN. He lived on the family farm until he entered the military at the age of 23. He enlisted in the Army and served in the Sixth Calvary during WWII. He was at Normandy during the invasion and served our country proudly for 7 years before being discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He then returned to Chattanooga and worked at Combustion Engineering until his retirement in 1980.
