Charles “Charlie” Wendell Bond, 82, of Alexandria, passed away on September 22, 2014, at Community Hospital, Anderson after an extended illness. Charlie was born on August 14, 1932, in Olive Hill, Kentucky to George W. and Catherine (Reynolds) Bond.

He served his country in the Navy, and the National Guard, and retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 30 years. He was an avid gardener, and loved watching birds, bowling, and tinkering in the garage. He was a lifetime member of the VFW in Elwood, and served in the American Legion and the 40 & 8 for several years.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cuba “Cappie” (Alford) Bond, son, Michael (Anita) Bond; daughters, Cathy (Ernie) Amick, Ellen (Steve) Brady, Teresa (Mike) Ebert, and Dana (Mike) Harrington. He is also survived by his sister Julia “T-Leaf” (Joel) Roemisch, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; three sisters; and two grandsons.
