Charles Ford life began on September 21, 1941 in Camden, Arkansas. He was the fourth child of Rosetta and Tinie Ford Sr. He grew up in Camden, AR and attended Union Grove High School in Harmony Grove Community.
Charles worked at an early age as a contractor for the International Paper Mill and later worked many years for the Camden Furniture Factory. Eventually, he moved his family to Vallejo, California where he worked at the Navel Weapon Station in Concord, CA. He also worked as a Cement Mason on the San Francisco Bay Bridge, Richmond-San Rafael Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, CA.
