Those left to honor Charlie’s memory are his son, Bruce Tracy (Cheryl) Burkland, Prairie City, Iowa; his daughter, Sharon (Steve) Atwood of Baxter, Iowa; four grandchildren, Carey Gorham, Teresa (Brad) Arrowood, Edie (Mike) Hatcher, and Stacie (Damon) Madole; and his nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, O. F. & Elizabeth (Winter) Burkland; and wife, Arlenna L. in 1998.
Charlie graduated from Creston Senior High School in Creston, Iowa and received his degree in Engineering from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.
Charlie was a devoted husband & father to his son, daughter & family. His life could be summed up as “somebody you could count on”.
