Charles Valdemar Hernández, 82, passed away April 2, 2020, in Orlando, FL. He was born June 1, 1937, in Pueblo (Salt Creek), CO. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Lucas and Nieves Hernandez, his daughter, Pamela Gayle Hernandez, and 9 siblings. Charles graduated from Central High School in 1955 and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. His career was spent in aerospace as an Aerospace Test Engineer; he worked on famous projects such as the Apollo space capsules, Skylab, Mars Viking Lander, MX Missile and the Space Shuttle. He earned an Associates in Science degree in Computer Integrated Manufacturing from Vincennes University during his early retirement years. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Consuelo Romero Hernández of Orlando, FL and children: Jennifer (Rodney) Bosley of Orlando, FL; Mark (Desiree) Hernández of Biloxi, MS; Suzanne (Charles) Maxwell of Pearl River, LA; 9 grandchildren: Christa (Nathan) Tompkins, Erica Bosley, Pamela (Claude) Stevens, Michael (Lauren) Hernández, Kathryn Hernández, Megan Hernández, Luke Ditmore, Dena (Nick) Knight and Alyssa Maxwell; 10 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson; his sister, Deluvina Hernández of San Antonio, TX, and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws who will miss him.
