Charles T. Russell, 61, Summitville, passed away October 23, 2010 at Community Hospital, Anderson after an extended illness.
He was born August 17, 1949 in Anderson, Indiana, and resided in Madison County most of his life. He served his country in the Marine Corp and the Army, serving during the Vietnam Conflict and the National Guard. Charles was a member of Bricker Heights Wesleyan Church in Marion. He received the following commendations while serving in the military; Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Civil Action Color First Class, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation and National Defense Service Medal.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Rhoads Russell whom he married January 20, 2010; two daughters, Mari Sue Russell and Valerie Russell; two sons, Todd Russell and Roy Russell; six sisters, Charlotte McCune, Wilda Jo Russell, Betty Jane Brattain, Beth Glea Baker, Mary Ann Wolfe and Connie Sue Webb; two grandchildren, Melody Russell of Elwood and Dana Miller of Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Edward and Imogene Hendricks Russell; and two sisters, Jane Ann Russell and Margaret “Tootie” Peters.
