Charles S. “Whitey” Anderko, 61, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at home on Sunday, February 17, 2008. He was the husband of Ann Marie (Bruno) Anderko for 39 years. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Charles and Eva (Grupp) Anderko. Whitey was employed by the Bethlehem Steel Corp, Sheet Marketing Division for 37 years in Bethlehem and Sparrows Point, MD. He later worked for the Bethlehem Area School District. He was a member of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Bethlehem. He was an active member of the NE Wanderers and the St. Bernard’s Club. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He was a Bethlehem Catholic High School graduate where he played on the 1961-1962 State basketball championship team. Whitey was an avid Lehigh wrestling and football fan, he also enjoyed playing golf and walking. His love for his family was unmatched, he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors: he will be lovingly remembered by his wife Ann Marie at home; daughters Michele Anderko of Bethlehem and Alisa Anderko and her fiancee Wilson Gonzalez of Bethlehem; son Kevin Anderko and his wife Karen of Danielsville; grandchildren Corinne and Cael; brother Thomas and his wife Reana of Bethlehem and niece Reve’.
