Charles Russell Whisenant, age 95, of East Highway 60, Salt Lick, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY, after a stroke he experienced one week ago.
Born July 26, 1926, in Beckley, West Virginia, and reared in Oceana, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Horace W. and Katherine Dora Kidd Whisenant. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: Homer Whisenant, Harold Whisenant, Max Whisenant, and Benny Joe Whisenant, and four sisters: Ruth Francis, Jean Meadows, Betty Drenan, and Nancy Nichols.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 66 years, Faye Adams Whisenant of Salt Lick; nephews, Gary (Ralpha) Harvey and Terry (Sandy) Harvey, both of Salt Lick; niece, Teresa (David) Arnett of Salt Lick; great nieces, Jessica Harvey and Katelyn Harvey, both of Salt Lick, and Makayla (Austin) Lewis of Mt.
