Charles Roger Barton, 69, Huntington, died Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at his daughter’s residence in Huntington. Mr. Barton was born January 11, 1942 to Charles I. and Lema Louise Barnes Barton. His parents preceded him in death. He married Vivian Egbert on December 26, 1964 in Darmstadt, Indiana. She survives in Huntington. He graduated from Reitz High School, Evansville, IN 1959.
In 1984, he earned degrees in accounting and business management from Huntington University. Charles served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1967. Mr. Barton worked for Hahn, Inc. in Evansville, IN; In 1971 he started working for Delks Dental Lab in Columbus, IN also H & R BLOCK. 1973 he was transferred to Fort Wayne, IN were he worked till 1991. He and his wife Vivian started Roger’s and Vivian’s Tax Service in 1993, where he worked until his retirement in 2010.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: three daughters: Diane Marie Barton, Punta Gorda, FL, Amy Lou (Matt) Doctor, with children David, Nathan, Jason and Anna in Huntington, IN; and Annette (Lee) Turpen with children Michael, Luke, Peter, Rhiannon and Katherine in Evansville, IN, two sisters: Linda Mahan, Knoxville, TN, and Charlotte Ann Maynard, Orlando, FL.
