Charles Robert Hart, 74, of Bridgeport, passed away at Ruby Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family, on October 26, 2014 following a courageous battle against cancer since 2008.
He was born March 20, 1940 in Clarksburg, WV, the son of the late Everett W. Hart, Sr. and Ida Mae Goff Hart. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kathleen Ursula Watkins Hart; four daughters; Brenda L. Hart and husband William “Dave” Alltop of Bridgeport, Charlotte K. Hart of Fairmont, Charlene M. Heller and husband Alan of Mt.
Charles was an avid NASCAR fan, his favorite drivers being Richard Petty and Jeff Gordon. He traveled to Daytona and Charlotte for races since 1967 and was a Charlotte Speedway Club permanent seat holder with his name on them. He also enjoyed attending Bristol and several other races while enjoying travel in his R.V. Charles was an accountant and owner of C.R. Hart Company for 45 years. He loved his work, and was so dedicated he would drive himself to work after treatments. He graduated from Rowlesburg High School, class of 1958. He was a loving husband, Dad and Pap.
