Charles Richard “Dick” Spielman Jr.
Died on May 28, 2012 at 8:15pm Littleton, CO. Born June 27, 1928 to Charles Richard Spielman and Esther Marie (Buente) Spielman in New York, NY. He was joined in marriage to Mary Jane McMullen on June 27, 1952 in Indianapolis, IN. To this marriage four children were born, Charles Richard, Linda Anne, Paul Thomas and Susan Leigh. Dick was schooled in Bloomfield, NJ, graduating from high school in 1945, at the age of 16. He attended classes at Purdue University until 1946. He entered the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1948. He continued his studies at Purdue University and obtained a degree in engineering in 1953. Following graduation, Dick and Jane lived in Mt. Gilead, OH, where all four of their children were born. Dick was employed by HPM. In 1966 the family moved to Littleton, CO as Dick was employed by C.A. Norgren. He worked as an engineer for several employers retiring from Dravo and Lockeed Martin in 1992. Following retirement Dick discovered his passion for genealogy, and pursued writing and speaking at several events.
Surviving Dick is his wife of 60 years Jane; children Rick (Cathy) Spielman, Idaho Falls, ID, Linda (Steve) Steinhauer, Walters, MN, Paul (Sue) Spielman, Firestone, CO, Susan (Scott) Spielman-White, Carbondale, CO; 6 grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren Dustin (Crystal) Spielman, Zach, Trevor Spielman, Cory Steinhauer, Steve, Barbara Steinhauer, Christina Palmer, Elijah, Delany Spielman; one great grandchild, Gavin Steinhauer; Sister-in-law Ann O’Rouke, Milwaukee, WI. Preceding in death are: father Charles Richard Spielman Sr., mother Esther Marie Spielman, father-in-law Frank McMullen, and mother-in-law Pauline McMullen.
