RICE, CHARLES H., age 80, of Centre, formerly of Center Point, passed away January 25, 2011. He was retired from ADCO Chemical Company with 40 years of service. He was a graduate of Campbellsville College in Campbellsville, KY. He was a member of First Baptist church in Centre. He was a Deacon from 1959 until 2011, Sunday School Director and Teacher and Choir Member. He was an Air Force Staff Sergeant and Veteran. From 1970 to 1971 he sat on the Committee on Boards for the Southern Baptist Convention. He was an Association and State Brotherhood Director. In the late 1960s and early 1970s he was a member of the American Businessmen’s Club where he was President in Jacksonville, Ill. Bus Ministry Captain and was a Gideon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Mary Rice. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Dorcas C. Rice; daughter, Debra Rice O’Shea (Christopher J.) of Bel Air, MD; son, Lyle G. Rice of Birmingham, AL; sister, Bonnie J. Murphy of Centre, AL; grandchildren, Kelly J. O’Shea, Megan C. O’Shea of Bel Air, MD, Caitlin Benefield of Ozark, AL; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Services will be on Saturday, Jan.
