He was an Air Force veteran. Charles was a graduate of Southport High School and Purdue University with a BS and MS degree in Mathematics. He was a retired computer programmer from Automated Technical Associates. His survivors are sister Diana L. (Andrew) Baker Jr. of Indianapolis; niece Jennifer (Tracy) Jarvis of Indianapolis; nephew Andrew (Susan) Baker III of Indianapolis; great nieces Lauren Baker and Madeline Jarvis and great nephew Andrew Baker IV.
