Charles R. Murdock, 63, of Anderson, known as “Charlie”, “Dickie” or “Pops” from Irondale, passed away on December 24, 2012 due to battle with Lung Cancer. He was born on December 2, 1949 in Anderson, the son of Charles E. Murdock of Anderson. He worked construction with his boys at Murdock’s Construction. He was a three time governor for the Moose Lodge in Bonita Springs, Florida.

He was an avid fan of the Colts and NASCAR. He loved spending time with his kids and grand-kids. Charles is survived by his four boys, of Anderson, Charlie Jr, Paul, Jeramie and Jamie; eleven grandchildren; brothers, Jim Murdock Debby of Anderson, Tim Hollowell Tonya of Georgia, Terry Hollowell Pam of Kentucky and Mike Holowell of Ohio; sisters, Sissy Sonka Joe of Arkansas and Dawn Miller of Anderson; and uncles Elliott Murdock Millie of Anderson, and Norman Murdock JoAnn.

Also surviving are too many friends and family to list, but know that he knew who you were. Special thanks to his ex-wife, mother of the boys, and good friend, Cheryl Murdock; hospice, Johnny Fraley, Larry and Linda Swallows; and his secret admirer for their uplifting cards and letters. Last, but not least, the boys that worked for Murdock’s Construction.

He was preceded in death by son, Timothy; sisters, Evelyn Gross and LuAnn Robinson; grandparents, Ellet and Maggie Murdock; too many aunts and uncles to name, all of whom were secondary parents.
