HAVERHILL – Charles R. Lane, 69, of Bradford, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, November 25, 2013 surrounded by his family at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House.

Mr. Lane was born in Vincennes, IN on June 27, 1944, one of three sons of the late P.B. and Roberta (Slawson) Lane. Charles lived in many communities while growing up as his father served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a graduate of the Stockbridge College of Agriculture.

He met his wife Joan (Canning) Lane while working at a restaurant in Osterville, Cape Cod, while his father was stationed at Otis Air Force Base. They married several years later and have enjoyed 44 years of loving marriage. They resided in several communities until making Bradford their home for over 20 years.

Mr. Lane was very passionate about his work and the education he received at Stockbridge. He was employed by Phillips Academy of Andover for many years until his retirement.

He was a parishioner of Sacred Hearts Parish, Bradford. Family was the center of his life, being a loving husband and a caring father and grandfather.
Mr. Lane’s surviving family members include his wife, Joan Lane of Bradford; son, Randy Lane and his wife Yin Mei Lim of Cleveland, OH; cherished grandson, Oliver; brother, James Lane and his wife Nina of MO; many nieces and nephews; brother of the late John Lane.
