Charles R. Burnside
Charles Robert Burnside, age 66, of Waterbury, CT, formerly of Bethel, came to peace Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Barbara Ellen (Gean) Burnside.
He was born in New York, NY, January 27, 1947 son of the late Nick Simone and Anna (Orsagos) Burnside Simone of San Diego, CA. He served in the Marines during the Vietnam War and was the Maintenance Supervisor at Glen Hill Convalescent Center in Danbury for over 30 years. He was a wonderful friend, great man and rock to his wife of 36 years.
Known as “Poppy” and “Pop Pop” to his immediate family, besides his wife, he is survived by 1 son: Paul Burnside of Brewster, NY; 2 daughters: Kimberly Burnside and Amanda Burnside both of Bethel, CT; 4 grandchildren: Mackenzie, Madison, Jenna and Paige. In addition, he is survived by his sister: Grace Patricio and her husband Paul of San Diego, CA; brother: Michael Simone and his wife Shawn of Oakland, NJ, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
