Charles Oates on December 17, 2019, God called Mr. Charles B. Oates home to be peacefully with the Lord. Today is a day to celebrate the life legacy of him. He was born on September 15, 1961, to the late Simon Oates Sr. and Bernice H. Oates, from Faison, N.C.

As he was growing up from a boy to a young man, he loved basketball. Charles mentored a lot of young men and played a lot of basketball in his spare time. He played at North Duplin High School where he graduated and received his high school diploma. From then to now, he has always been a people person and was loved, known, and touched many people’s lives. If you respected him, he respected you. He was a hard working man. For many of years, he worked at Carolina Turkey and Martin Meats.

Charles was preceded in death by his brother: Mr. Simon Oates, Sr. (Sandra) from Calypso, NC. Charles loved all so well and cherished his two daughters: Evangelist Donil M. G Warren of Fayetteville, NC, and Melissa A. Faison Withers (Jamonica) from Greensboro, NC, one grandson: Nasir Parker from Greensboro, NC, brothers: Mr. Carl Oates (Gwen) of Faison, NC, and Mr. Marvin Oates from Philadelphia, NC, Sisters: Miss. Juliette Oates of Faison, NC, Mrs. Annette Oates Davis of Philadelphia, NC, Mrs. Daris Oates Graham of Philadelphia, PA.

He also leaves to cherish Mr. Tony G. McNeill, Devin Lee Paterson (Yvette), Mr. Steve and Mr. Harry Parker, a step daughter: Shirley Parker, who he loved very much, Special cousins: Miss Tomasina Freeman and Semica Parker who he loved like his very own daughters, and Mrs. Patricia M. Hines who he loved like a sister, and her children, Tony, Antoinette, and Marcet, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. We always feel we got unanswered questions that we don’t know. When the sentence comes to a question, when God answers it, it has a period. For he knows best, for the reason to all of the conclusion.
