Monroe worked as a welder/fabricator and took his work seriously and did his job with pride. He loved racing go carts and his motto was “put it in front or put it in the box.” He also loved racing cars on dirt track and asphalt and was very hard to beat. He was the best in everything he put his mind to. He had a great life and leaves behind a great legacy of enjoying life and loving his family.

Monroe is preceded in death by his parents, Gladys and Albert Carter; his brother, Lamis Carter; his daughter, Deborah Sue Carter Green; and grandson, Nicholus Wade Green.

Monroe is survived by his wife of 28 years Gail Carter and his daughter, Lisa Carter Reeves, son-in-law, Ken Partozes and wife Jennifer; granddaughter, Ivy Partozes; great grandchildren, Odin Haze Jackson and Trinity Madison Green; sisters, Shirley Alford and husband Jesse, Betty Mae Harrison, and Nellie Hagwood.
