Charles Martin Robear, 92, of Meetinghouse Circle, died peacefully in his home on October 9, 2011 after a long illness. He was born in Camden, New Jersey on November 3, 1918 and spent much of his childhood and teenage years in the Adirondack Mountains of New York. Charles served as a fighter-bomber pilot with the 9th Air Force in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. He piloted twin-engine attack bombers including the Douglas A-26 Invader. Mr. Robear was awarded the Air Medal with 2 battle stars, the E.T.O. ribbon, the World War II Victory Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the Distinguished Unit Badge, and the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal.
