Charles M. Orlando, Jr., age 82, beloved husband of 53 years of Carol (Cole) Orlando, passed away peacefully Monday, November 27, 2017 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Nyack, NY the son of the late Charles and Concetta Orlando, he resided in Schenectady and Scotia, NY for many years and also resided in the Adirondacks, Sarasota, FL and summered in Fairfield. Mr. Orlando graduated from Nyack High School, Fordham University and received a PhD in Organic Chemistry from New York University at the age of 25. He was employed by General Electric for 32 years in research and development. He was a member of the G.E. Elfin Society and the American Chemical Society. A devout Roman Catholic, Charles was always active in the parishes where he lived whether serving as Eucharistic Minister or in other groups such as Christ Renews at Our Lady of the Angels in Bradenton, FL, and Retorno at St.
