Charles M. Mitchell, 71, passed away Friday Dec. 6, 2013 in Franklin. He was a resident of Franklin.

Charles was born August 20, 1942 in Peoga, in Brown County to Lloyd and Carrie (Graves) Mitchell.

He married Betty Ramsey on Dec. 10, 1962 in Trafalgar; they were married for 50 years.

He was a fork lift driver at Arvin Industries for 30 years, retiring in 2004.

Charles was a member of the Greenwood and Columbus Moose Lodges. He enjoyed blue grass music at the hog roast, camping, watching television, he was a fan of the Duck Dynasty show and hanging out with the guys at Lester Stevens Shop. He was a member of the Edinburgh United Methodist Church. He loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Mitchell of Franklin, five children, Gary ( Lisa) Taylor of Edinburgh, Tammy (David) Caseltine of Georgia, Melinda (Thomas) Banta  of Trafalgar, Allen (Jennifer) Mitchell and Kerri (Max) Crews both of Franklin, four sisters, Ruth Anderson of North Dakota, Shirley Barnard of Florida, Judy (Richard) Byers of Royal Center and Gail (Mark) Doucey of Bargersville, a brother, David (Lois) Mitchell of Alabama, 19 grandchildren,  15 great-grandchildren and his three dogs, Lucy, Cleo and Sparky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Roland Mitchell and a great-granddaughter, Hailey Hogue.
