Charles M. “Charlie” Lecher, 80, of Greensburg, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital. He was born October 23, 1940, in Greensburg, Indiana the son of George E. and Johanna M. (Rudolf) Lecher.
He was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Knights of St. John, and United Steel Workers of America Local #6743 District 7. He served 6 years in the Army National Guard (1963-1969). Charlie worked for 40 years at NTN-BCA, retiring in 2004.
He was married to Ruth E. Meyer on May 9, 1964, in Hamburg, Indiana and she preceded him in death on July 15, 2015.
He is survived by 8 children, Dianne (David) Grannan, John Lecher, Carol (David) Lohmueller, Doug Lecher, Mark (Lisa) Lecher, Scott (Elizabeth) Lecher, Matthew (Alison) Lecher, Eric (Siobhan) McGuire; 11 grandchildren, Brooke, Luke, Thomas, Bridget, Drew, Neil, Claire, Eloise, Oliver, Josephine, and Tadhg; 5 brothers, Robert G. (Betsy) Lecher, Dennis J. (Gayla) Lecher, Steven C. (Edith) Lecher, Eugene E. (Patti) Lecher, Ronald L. (Donna) Lecher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; 2 sons, Greg & Dale Lecher; one great-grandson, Franklin Charles Horan.
