Charles Lyle Bennett, age 60 of Rensselaer, passed away April 20, 2011 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana. Charles, the son of Lyle Glen Bennett and Josephine Rosably (White) Bennett, was born in Gary, Indiana on December 28, 1950. A lifetime area resident, he graduated with the Class of 1970 from Hebron High School.
Charles attended the Living Water Church of Winamac, was a member of the Rensselaer Moose Lodge #2272, loved fishing, NASCAR and working his number find books. He was a truck driver for 15 years with Hopkins Trucking in Rensselaer. Charles was married in Rensselaer on June 11, 1988, to Shirley Andres Hoaks who passed away on January 15, 2008.
Survivors include his children, Chuck Bennett, Antigo, WI, and Debi (Tim) VanDeraa, Winamac, IN; one sister, Dee (Gary) Isenberg, Crawfordsville, IN, half-brother, Gerbin (Deanna) Bennett and half-sister, Irma Bennett.
