Charles L. Spencer, 91, of Rochelle, passed away on January 26, 2010, at Rochelle Rehab & Health Care Center.
Charles was born June 23, 1918, in Oblong, Il., son of Charles and Claudia Spencer. He married Virginia Robertson on October 2, 1981, in Oregon, Il. Charles loved singing and performing bluegrass music for others, he loved to garden, work with wood, and travel.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia of Rochelle; daughter, Shirley (Jerry) Withrow of Rochelle; sister, Belva Rodgers of Whitwell, TN.; three stepchildren, Diane (Richard) Mitchell of Turrell, TX., Ricky (Kathy) Tyner of Rochelle and Randy Tyner of Rochelle; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers; one sister and one step-son.
