Charles L. “Butch” Miller, 87, of rural Virginia, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.
He was born May 16, 1930, in the Monroe Community, the son of Clifford Roy and Rosa McLin Miller. He married Delores Ann Walters on Jan. 3, 1965, at the Virginia United Methodist Church and she survives.
He is also survived by two daughters and one son, Cynthia Leann (Steve) Swarringin of Jacksonville, Jody Belinda Miller of Virginia, and Chris Carter (Sherry) Miller of Virginia; one brother, Milton Wayne (Barbara) Miller of Banner; one sister, Maxine (deceased husband, Marion) Walton of Pekin; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Bob Miller (surviving wife, Rosalie of Griggsville).
A lifelong farmer, Butch was a grain farmer until 1999, and retired from livestock farming in 2016. He loved his horses, his dogs, and his rooster, Fred. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
