Charles L. Hathaway of Florence Township passed away Tuesday October 9, 2018 at his residence at the age of 95. Charles was born in Florence Township and remained a lifelong resident. He was a machinist by trade, retiring from Delva Tool in Cinnaminson. His true passion however was farming. He started as a dairy and livestock farmer. He eventually sold off the livestock and continued to farm the land raising soybeans and corn. Charles put a lot of hard work into his large vegetable garden where he supplied his family with plenty of fresh vegetables every year.
He was also extremely creative, making tools and devices to solve the many challenges that came from maintaining the buildings and farm equipment. He also enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida. Charles was predeceased by his siblings: Helen Hathaway, Myra Alcott, Edith Davis, Grace Myers and Marian Lear. He was also predeceased by his granddaughter Tammi Hathaway.
He is survived by his wife Eleaner (nee Page), his children; Eileen Hill, Charles L. Hathaway II, Patti Woolston (Ritchard), Marian Bucci (Charles), his grandchildren; Bradley Ingham (Jane), Erin Ingham, Paige Boston (Paul), Reece Woolston (Nina), Coleton Bucci and Haley Bucci. He is also survived by his great grandchildren; Brian, Lucy, Maggie, Steven, Christopher, Henry, Clare, Rylee, Cooper, Brooks and Rhett, step great granddaughter Shannon (Ryan), step great-great grandchildren Amelia and Samuel as well as many nieces, nephews and other family members. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral service.
