Charles L. Hanlon, 86, Anderson, died August 12, 2007, at St. Johns Health System, Anderson Indiana after an extended heart illness.
He was born August 30, 1920, in Boone County, Indiana, and resided in Anderson, Indiana. Charles moved to Anderson from Lebanon in 1961. He retired from Central Indiana Railroad after 30 years of service and had formerly worked for the US Post Office in Lebanon. Charles served his country in the US Army. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, the VFW, and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife whom he married on July 9, 1943: Margaret “Jo” Wiley Hanlon. Seven children: JoAnn Gardner of Anderson, Janie Fred Lamb of Alexandria, Ed Cheryl Hanlon of Anderson, Sue Steve Henning of Anderson, Barb Mike Chambers of Oregon, Pat Hanlon of Anderson, and Marty Hanlon of Alexandria. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and a special dog, Abby.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Oliver & Charlotte Witt Hanlon. Son: Carl Hanlon. Brother: Devon Hanlon.
