Charles L. Friend, 84, Anderson, died August 4, 2002 at Community Hospital, Anderson after extended illness. He was born June 1, 1918 in Kempton, IN, and resided in Anderson his entire life. He is survived by his 2 step-children: Betty Turner of Anderson, and Sandra Cline of Key West, FL. 3 Sisters: Sylvia Brashear of Kempton, Goldie Friend and Betty Friend. 8 Grandchildren: Mary Cantrell, Mike & Matt Browning all of Anderson, Mark Michele Browning of Minnesota, Marsha Ben Hansen of Virginia, Jill Reels of Daleville, Terri Applegate of Alexandria, Tomas Hunt of Florida. 14 great grandchildren and 2 Great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents: Ivy Simpson and William Friend; his wife, Leona L.Toliver Friend, Brothers, Paul Friend, John Friend, a sister Bertha Friend, a grandson, Kenneth Hunt.
