Charles K. Hamm, 85, of South Jacksonville, IL, died Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Jacksonville Skilled Nursing.

He was born November 22, 1933, in Concord, the son of William E. and Lula Mae Cox Hamm. He married Rosie Vaniter in 1985, and she preceded him in death on May 17, 2015.

He is survived by four step-children, Linda Buchanan, Tom (Vicki) Vaniter, and Bill (Rita) Vaniter, all of South Jacksonville, and Bobby Hawking; four siblings, Frank Hamm of Jacksonville, Tina Dunn of Nilwood, Doris Gaines of Jacksonville, FL, and Catherine Antle of Jacksonville; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and eight siblings, Ed Hamm, Bill Hamm, Virgil Hamm, Johnny Hamm, Dale Hamm, Barb Hamm, Lois Ann Clayton, and Betty VanHyning.

Mr. Hamm had worked as a farmhand, and had also worked for Walt Leake Foundry, Luck Boy Bakery, and Anderson-Clayton Foods. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and had been stationed in Germany. Charlie was a lifetime member of AMVETS post #100 in Jacksonville.
