Charles Joseph “Chuck” Hetzer III
Charles Joseph “Chuck” Hetzer III, age 74 of Greensboro, GA, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, December 5, 2019. Chuck was born April 26, 1945 in Chicago, IL to the late Charles Joseph Hetzer Jr. and Marion A. Hetzer.
After high school, he attended Western Illinois University and later graduated from Elgin Community College. On November 30, 1968, he married Elizabeth “Betty” Keeton. In 1970, after being honorably discharged from the Air Force, they moved from Florida to Illinois. Here he worked in Design Engineering Information Analysis for Shure Brothers Electronics, followed by Production Planning for the Zenith Corporation, and later for the Johnson Tool Company. In 1999 the Hetzers moved from Hoffman Estates, Illinois to Greensboro, GA. Not quite ready for retirement, Chuck spent 10 years working as Inventory Manager for Askew Appliance.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 51 years, Betty of Greensboro, GA; daughter Shawn Cross (David) of Suwanee, GA; grandchildren Chase and Blake Cross; sister Sue McCarthy of Elgin, IL; brother-in-law Warren Scott; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
