Charles J. Snyder, 90, Pendleton, died September 11, 2005 at his residence following a sudden illness.
He was born July 12, 1915 in Portsmouth, OH, and resided in Pendleton, IN. He was a retired supervisor of the postal dept. in Indianapolis. He resided in Indianapolis before coming to this area in October of 2003. He served with the United States Army in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, where he was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Bronze Star Medal and Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star.
He is survived by his Nephew & Niece: Ronnie & wife, Donna Shell of Anderson, also nephews, David Snyder & Rick Snyder; nieces, Linda Snyder and Joyce & husband, Charles Fordyce; Sister-in-law: Dorothy Oliver; Nephew, Juiney Toan; Niece, Tara & husband, Clint Porter; several great nieces and nephews; also surviving is his beloved companion, Heidi.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Fern Taylor Snyder; his parents, Ed & Mary Gamberline Snyder; brothers, sisters, and a sister-in-law, Marie Snyder.
