Troy – Charles Irving ‘Irv’ Parslow, 89, died Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at Vermont Veteran’s Home after a long illness.
Born in Troy, he was son of the late John Parslow Sr. and Helen St. Dennis Parslow. He had resided in the Troy area all his life.
Irv was the owner and operator of Irv’s Electric Motors on Spring Avenue in South Troy for 40 years retiring in 1996.
He was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill and a member of the Van Schaick Island Marina. Irv was a Navy veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theatre. For several years he was a coach for Twin Town Little League.
Survivors include his children, James J. (Terry) Parslow, Averill Park, Charles I. (Sharon) Parslow Jr, Wynantskill, Susan Helen Muscatello, Troy and Christine M. (Mark) Swankey, Averill Park; his siblings, Peter Parslow and Barbara Saddock, Rochester, Ruth Parslow, Antarctica, and Esther Parslow, Troy; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; his ex-wife, Patricia Ray and a long time friend, Barbara McKinley. He was predeceased by three brothers, John Parslow Jr., Robert and Milton Parslow and sister, Patty Parslow.
