Charles Harlan Clark, 84, was born on Thursday, September 15, 1938, at home in Comanche County, Oklahoma. He was a graduate of Davenport High School (Oklahoma). Though an “Okie,” his love and knowledge of New Mexico was great, living in Albuquerque for more than 40 years.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; and daughter, Christy; and “gifted” children, Andrea Sanchez (husband Greg) and Doug Ray (wife Leah). He was preceded in death by his son, Chip, and Cori Ray Hyatt and Judy’s children Karen Monteleone and John Darsey. Surviving family members are his brother, Don (wife Peggy); sisters, Sharon (husband Lee Cashat) and Shirley (husband James McGavock), and brother James.

He is survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and cousins who loved him greatly.

Charles, a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve, will be remembered for his sense of humor that continued to his death bed, a great storyteller, a teller of “dad jokes” (i.e. bad ones – or so says his daughter, although Judy loves them), his love of travel and for his exceptional artistry. He would say, however, that his greatest accomplishment was receiving forgiveness from Jesus Christ and the abundant life He so freely gave. His greatest hope, which is now fulfilled, was meeting Jesus face to face with those of his loved ones at His side.
