Those left to honor Chuck’s memory are his daughter, Mary Ann Hoelscher of Newton; son, Larry Lust of Newton; his step-daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Loren (Mike) Mickelson of Newton; step-son and daughter-in-law, Melvin (Butch) and Jana Lust of Newton; his 3 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; his 5 step-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Mary Hopkins of Colfax, Iowa and Donna Lust of Newton, Iowa; and his many nieces and nephews.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1938 – 1945 during WWII.
Chuck worked in the factory at the Maytag Company as a Tool and Die maker, retiring in 1976. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1655 in Newton and was active for years in the Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball; where he had served a term as President of Little League.
