CHARLES NORMAN FREIFELDER Charles Norman Freifelder, a gentlemen, friend and favorite son of the city of Burlington, NJ passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at home, in the arms of his loving wife, Phyllis, on Wednesday February 10th, at the age of 82. Charles is survived by his devoted wife Phyllis Arlene Doughty Freifelder, who will miss his unwavering companionship and love, his daughter Jill Freifelder Sklarew, her husband Joel and their three children, Brett, Levi and MacKenzie, and his son Curt Freifelder and his three children Matt, Megan and Melissa, who will all hear Charles’ laughter, stories and feel his strong hugs, always.

Charles was born on October 20, 1933 in Burlington NJ, and spent the last several decades living and supporting his beloved city. A great storyteller, his life was full of experiences, gratitude and laughter. He served in the Armed Forces based in Oklahoma and then worked for most of his career as a Director of Marketing in the New Home Real Estate business, where he helped several companies establish new communities in the tri-state area. His other passion, outside of his wife, children, grandchildren and all of his extended family, was his dedication and enthusiasm for The Burlington Entertainers (Burnt Cork), a musical entertainment group founded in 1906, which put on performances in the local area to raise funds for the Deborah Heart and Lung Center.

Charles performed with the Burlington Entertainers for many years and was the group’s President and tireless promoter, often appearing and speaking on behalf of the group on local radio and news shows. Through these rousing performances he shared his love for the city of the Burlington with friends new and old. He received so much satisfaction in being able to contribute to Deborah Heart and Lung who he credits saving his life 9 years earlier He loved performing with his dear friends at Burlington Entertainers.
