WOMACKDURHAM Mr. Charles Eugene Womack, 88, of 426 Southerland Street, died on Wednesday, September 1, . Womack was a native of Polk County, the son of Amos Anderson Womack and Lela White Womack. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and World War II. He retired from Southern Railroad after 30 years as an Engineer. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Clyde, Knox, Amos and Lewis Womack and two sisters, Pearl Johnson and Edna is survived by his wife, Dorothy G. Womack; daughter, Mary Beth Parker and husband, Jim of Emerald Isle and three grandchildren, Seth Parker, Caleb Parker and Shane Parker.
