Charles “Eric” Dorsey
Eric Dorsey of Kuna, Idaho passed away July 21, 2022, from complications due to a severe fall. He was a kind and caring man who will be missed greatly by his family and so many others.
Eric was born in Boise, Idaho to F. L. (Pete) and Vera England Dorsey. He was the oldest of three children. His family moved to their farm in rural east Kuna located on the Kuna Mora Road when he was 12 years old. He attended the Mora School which had two rooms: grades first through sixth. After the sixth grade at Mora, he went to Kuna and graduated from Kuna High School in 1960 with letters in football, basketball and track.

He started teaching school and coaching athletics at Kuna Junior High; very quickly he became the principal there. Eric knew all his teachers, the student’s names, most of the student’s parents and which bus the students were supposed to be on, even if the bus driver didn’t know.
Eric was the principal at various Kuna elementary schools, the superintendent for the Kuna School District for a couple of years, principal in the Boise School District, and when the opportunity came to go back to his beloved Kuna, he ended his career as a principal in the Kuna School District. Over the course of his career, he was bestowed numerous commendations and awards for his work in education.
Eric was an avid hunter and enjoyed packing with his horses and mules. He always said his mules were better packers than his horses. When he wasn’t hunting, he was team roping with his brother-in-law Rodney and many friends in Idaho and Arizona.
He received a Distinguished Citizen Award in 1978, and later was chosen as the Grand Marshall for the Kuna Days parade.

He is preceded in death by his parents F L (Pete) and Vera England Dorsey, son Steven Dorsey and daughter-in-law Cindy Dorsey.
He is survived by his wife Ardella and daughter Shelley (Bruce) Hubbard and granddaughter Shelbi Hubbard. A sister Sue (Al) Dimmick, and brother Carl (Barbara) Dorsey, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many loving friends.

on Thursday, July 28 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
