It is with a broken heart, we announce the passing of Charles Ranew on Tuesday, October 5th in Atrium Navicent Hospital in Macon, Georgia. He was surrounded by his family.  He and his wife resided at Lake Sinclair, Sparta, Georgia.

Charles graduated from Statesboro High School in Statesboro, Georgia in 1968.  He then joined the United States Marine Corp in 1969 and served in Vietnam earning two purple heart medals. Charles was proud to have served his country.

After retiring, he and his wife, Lynn, moved to Elkins, West Virginia for 16 years.

Charles and Lynn returned to Georgia in April of this year to enjoy their grandchildren, great grandchildren, and life at the lake.

Charles was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Ranew and mother, Elizabeth Ranew.

Remaining is his loving wife of 27 years, Lynn Taylor. Also surviving are three sons, David (Carol) Ranew of Statesboro, Georgia, Roy (Becky) Ranew of Metter, Georgia and Keith (Amanda) Ranew of Metter, Georgia;  a beloved sister, Charlene (Ed) Cress of Richmond Hill, Georgia; two stepsons, Parrish (Lora) Thompson of Charleston, West Virginia and Chris Thompson of Statesboro, Georgia; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
